Welcome to the Centre for Co-created Ageing Research

CCREATE-AGE has been set up to improve health, wellbeing and human flourishing of the older population in Aotearoa, New Zealand. At CCREATE-AGE we focus on the opportunities of the ageing population and the challenge of delivering equity.

We are a research centre with a specific purpose, to address the issues of social and health disparities among different population groups.

We co-create with older people and our research is based on the needs and wants they identify in their daily lives and communities. By doing this our research will be focused on delivering creative and innovative solutions to improve the wellbeing of older people.

We want you to join us to make a positive impact on the lives of older people through the co-creation of world-leading ageing research.

Join our community of co-creators.

Welcome to CCREATE-AGE – a research centre that is all about doing things differently. The key is in our name – co-created. That means, working with you, the people we’re trying to help.

We are looking for:

  • Involved co-creators. Research topics are designed with and/or by older people.
  • Engaged co-creators. Working closely with older adults for the mutual transfer of resources and knowledge.
  • Participant co-creators – older people recruited to take part in research.

Co-created or collaborative research is increasingly popular because it helps align research and needs. It can be highly effective in identifying and meeting those needs. It benefits from the direct input of real-life users of services and products. You may have ideas and solutions we haven’t thought of. You may identify needs and problems that are new to us. In a nutshell, co-created research asks you to tell us what needs to be researched, how we do it, and even help with that research.
